Sports Premium

The Government has provided Primary Schools with additional funding to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for primary children.

For the financial year 2018-2019, Mary Elton will receive a Sports Premium Budget of approximately £20,000. See the below document for how this will be spent.

Year 6 swimming information: 95% of current Year 6 children can swim at least 25 metres, are able to proficiently swim at least 2 different strokes and have had training with life-saving skills.

Activity/Resource

Context and Process

New equipment Raise the standard, quality & accessibility of resources available for children to use in PE and sport sessions and also at playtimes. This is to inspire focussed physical activity during playtime breaks and lunchtimes and as part of children’s social and emotional development so that they are able to take turns fairly and understand the process of success and failure and the need to develop resilience
Paying for transport to venues for partnership events Enabling children to access a wider variety of sporting opportunities and competitions such as football, multi-skills, netball, cross country at Clevedon Community School and other venues.
Establishing strong, sustainable partnerships with Clevedon Community School and other primary schools in Clevedon. Children have the opportunity to work with other children from different schools and develop positive relationships with them.
Future Stars

Enabling children to access a wider variety of sporting opportunities and competitions such as football, multi-skills, netball, cross country at Clevedon Community School and other venues. This will also enable the staff CPD opportunities in a variety of physical activities/games to build their confidence.
